MEMBERSHIP PARTICIPATION
IN CHAPTER ACTIVITIES
Barry Woodward, Senior Member

Our Chapter is approaching 400 members strong from all parts of the Public Safety Community. The Chapter is only as strong as it’s member’s participation in Chapter activities.

In our past, it seemed that only a few did all the work. Not so now with the advent of the Regional Coordinators, Committee Chairpersons, volunteers and of course, the Board of Officers, this Chapter has grown to levels that we only could have dreamed of years ago.

But it does not end there. The Chapter still needs the participation of each and every member in its ranks to be a success. From volunteering to do small jobs, to attending Conferences, to going to training, or even volunteering to serve on Committees, both statewide and National, you are an integral part of this Chapter. If you are asked to serve, please do not turn it down. By serving, you get a whole new perspective on the Chapter, its acitivities and its members.

One of the biggest jobs we all have is recruiting new members. We need members from all ranks of Public Safety, 911 Center Directors, staff peresonnel, supervisory personnel, and line level personnel. Every Director in the State of Georgia should be a member of this organization.  Take a minute and look around your own center and see who you can recruit, then look at the membership list and see if your neighboring agencies are on there. The Board of Officers alone cannot make this Chapter succeed; it takes every member we have.

The Chapter is only as strong as you make it.  How about 500 members by Spring?  It’s not impossible..........Won’t you help?
