Rebanding Wave 3 includes ALL of Georgia .

The FCC freezing of the filing of 800 MHz license application for non-NPSPAC channels (any 800 Mhz frequency below 821/866 MHz) in Wave 3 is effective immediately.

On January 3, 2006 the three-month voluntary negotiation period starts for Wave 3 non-NPSPAC licensees.

THREAT ADVISORY

CURRENT GEORGIA THREAT ADVISORY LEVEL IS YELLOW

The APCO Homeland Security Task Force alerts the APCO membership to the elevation of the national security level to ELEVATED.  Because of the critical role that public safety communications plays in response to emergencies, this is a special note to 911 communication center managers.

The Task Force recommends that APCO members review the following within their agencies:

  • Preparing to execute contingency procedures
  • Facility security
  • Communications coordination and interoperability
  • System redundancies
  • Personnel safety and well-being
  • Availability of critical technical support
  • Potential for increased 911 call volume
